EMMANUEL OBBO, ARCHBISHOP OF TORORO ARCHDIOCESE LAUNCHES DIGITAL X-RAY AT ST. XAVIER DABANI HOSPITAL
On Friday 16th August residents of Dabani Sub Conty could not resist the joy and excitement when the Archbishop of Tororo ArchDiocese, Emmanuel Obbo launched Digital X-ray at St.Francis Xavier Dabani Hospital following the installation of a Digital X-ray Machine at the facility in partnership with Joint Medical Stores(JMS).
The launch was scheduled having fully installed 100kv generator and a transformer to provide 3 phase power to the facility that would sustain full time operations to run.
The hospital will now fully provide x-ray services, imaging by Radiographers and providing interpretation by Radiologists across the globe within only one hour at a reduced price of only 35,000.UGX.
At the launch the RDC, Kibwika Michael called upon the leadership of the District to popularise the facility and encourage clients to make good use of the facility and avoid high charges that are involved in transporting patients to Kenya and neighbouring districts for the service which is now available.
For long patient who required X-ray services had to either move to Tororo, Mbale, Bugiri, Jinja or Kenya to have the service and this has sometimes caused discomfort, high charges and even death due to delays.
The function was attended by members of District Council, Sub County leadership, DHO, Hospital Board members, a team from JMS, the community, madia and Dabani Staff.
